Meet Our Team of Registered Therapists, Counsellors, and Social Workers
Rié (she/her)
I am glad you're here.
Taking the step to find a therapist that you can trust and feel open with can be a hard one. You can be assured that I will always meet you where you're at while offering a tailored approach to you and your unique circumstances. If you are someone who has been struggling with anxiety, over-thinking, relationships, sense of self, feeling stuck, life transitions, and/or the impacts of childhood adversity or trauma, I would love to meet you. I am an eclectic therapist drawing from a number of modalities to suit you, including DBT, CBT, Narrative, EFT, and EMDR.
I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) as well as animal lover, photographer, outdoor adventurer, book reader, and the list goes on.
I went to school at the University of British Columbia where I received both my Bachelors and Masters degrees in social work with a focus in mental health.
I have been interested in mental health for as long as I can remember. My own experiences growing up as well as those with family and friends has fuelled my dreams of opening my own counselling practice that is open to all folks and all conversations. The Nook is a safe space for us to work through whatever brings you in.
I am currently accepting clients age 17+ on a waitlist.
Hamidah (she/her)
Hi! My name is Hamidah and I am a registered clinical counsellor. I am an avid traveler, foodie, anime/manga buff, music lover, stand-up comedy and Asian drama enthusiast. I grew up in Singapore, which is a multi-cultural city-state, with influences from both western and eastern culture. Therefore, I am familiar with navigating a complex identity. I pursued my education, both undergraduate and graduate in the states, and moved to BC in 2020 in the midst of pandemic chaos. Hence, I am familiar with the stress and struggles of being an immigrant too.
I have been a counsellor for 7+ years and have worked with children, youth and adults across various mental health and substance use challenges. I am particularly interested in helping individuals navigate through life transitions, explore identity, tackle multi-cultural issues, and achieve self-acceptance. I believe in being a guide rather than an expert. I draw from a range of therapy modalities, such as CBT, DBT, ACT and Narrative Therapy.
If I sound like someone who might be a good fit for you, you can contact us to schedule a free 15-min consult or can book our first session through our booking site. I look forward to meeting you!
I am currently accepting new clients age 17 and above, or below 17 with previous discussion. I look forward to meeting you!
Michelle (she/her)
If you are someone trying your best to manage mental health challenges, or the general curve balls in life, I would love to meet you!
My role is to help you make sense of confusing experiences, navigate difficult emotions, and to work with you on whatever brings you into our space. Together we can work through your struggles, whether they be stemming from depression, anxiety, life transitions, interpersonal challenges, or just generally feeling stuck. My goal is work to collaboratively with you to foster insight, to increase self-compassion, and create practical strategies for personal growth.
I work from a bio-psycho-social framework because none of us live in a vacuum. I approach my clients holistically, integrating influences of biology, mental wellbeing, and individuals’ environment.
I am client-centered, and believe deeply in the importance of having a supportive space where individuals can explore their emotions and experiences with curiosity and openness. I draw upon a diverse toolkit that includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), and mindfulness techniques.
Outside of work, I love to eat, travel, do puzzles, and learn new sports (last winter, I picked up skate skiing).
I am currently accepting new clients age 17 and above, or below 17 with previous discussion. I look forward to meeting you!
Dani (she/her)
I hope to bring curiosity, warmth, and non-judgment to our interactions as we co-create a safe space for exploration and processing. I am trained in DBT, CBT, and EMDR to support you along this path. I work from a person-centered framework, meaning I view each client as the expert in their own life. I believe many of our struggles are connected to larger social issues. Yet, with the right support, everyone can move towards wellness.
I have worked for over 8 years in the mental health sector. I am a Registered Social Worker. I work with individuals on topics related to emotional dysregulation, trauma, life transitions, anxiety, and depression, among other experiences.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors, hiking, and snowshoeing. This connection to nature allows me to be present and authentic in other areas of my life. As a white settler living and playing on Indigenous lands, I am consistently learning how to be a good guest on my outdoor adventures. Apart from being outside, I can almost always be found alongside my dog, Benny.
I am currently accepting new clients age 17 and above, or below 17 with previous discussion. I look forward to connecting with you!
